Sir Boreas Hawk likely to win Zetland Hunt Selling Hurdle
Sir Boreas Hawk is likely to win the Zetland Hunt Selling Hurdle at Catterick in England on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. The winner of the class-5 event will be awarded with cash prize of £2,053.
The going will be good to soft for the 2 mile race, scheduled to start at 2:20 GMT. A total of 10 runners are expected to take part in the event and their names are: Sir Boreas Hawk, Enriching, Marino Prince, Petomic, Rare Coincidence, Scriptwriter, Antoella,
Hammer, Lindseyfield Lodge and Sposalizio.
The bookmakers have full confidence in Sir Boreas Hawk, who has entered three hurdles in his career until now, winning one of them. Other than that, he also finished runner up once, which indicates that he has the potential of fighting for the top positions.
There was only one occasion, where he failed to make it to the top three.
Alan Swinbank’s trainee was unable to deliver a strong result in his last race over hurdles at Aintree. He had been given a starting price of 12 to 1 for that event and he managed a seventh place finish in the end.
The 10-year-old gelding was unable to match the speed of the front runners and weakened quite early in the race. However, he was up against some quality runners back then and things will be entirely different today.
Sir Boreas Hawk will be partnered by Fearghal Davis, jockey who has earned 55 victories over hurdles. He does not have a good strike rate, which might discourage the punters from placing bets on his horse.
The bookmakers have also given decent odds to Rare Coincidence, trained by Alan Berry. In contrast to the race favourite, he has taken part in quite a few hurdles, 36 in total. However, his strike rate is not much impressive, as he has been triumphant on
just six occasions.
Despite that, the bettors will be risking some money on him, considering his experience in this form of racing. He will be partnered by young jockey, Lucy Alexander, who has the potential of becoming one of the best in the business.
Other than the top two favourites, Marino Prince might also make it to the top three, as he is a seasoned runner. However, the rest of the runners do not really seem to have a chance of winning at Catterick today.
