Sir Frank Williams: Barrichello, Maldonado can score points with a perfect car – Formula 1 news
Williams principal Sir Frank Williams has said that the team drivers Rubens Barrichello and Pastor Maldonado can score points during their races if they provide them with a perfect car.
Frank also mentioned that their drivers are not at fault in the 2011 Formula 1 season and that he is sure they have an ability to perform well on the grid. In addition, he stated that due to an unsupportive role of the FW33 car, they are still not able to
give their best show in the ongoing season.
The team principal discussed their drivers and added that they are satisfied to have Barrichello in the team, as he is well-experienced in the sport at the moment and trying to do his best for them in the ongoing season.
He also talked about Barrichello’s teammate Maldonado and stated, “Pastor is a very cheerful chap, loves his racing and is very popular within the team and he tries to learn all the time, non-stop and Rubens is there to help him. It's unfortunate we haven't
managed more points so far this year but it's a question of us giving them a car that's capable of getting into the points!”
Frank went on to add, “You're under so much pressure to deliver a lap time for qualifying then you hope it all stays together in the race, which we've done for the most part and our car has been remarkably reliable.”
The Williams’ principal told the media that they are working on their new car and trying to make it a point-scoring car for the rest of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
He believes both of their drivers will make progress in terms of performance in the next race weekends with their car.
The team is sitting at the ninth place behind Toro Rosso with 4 points at the moment.
Despite getting disappointing results so far, Williams are aiming to score some decent points in the last eight rounds of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Let’s see how both of the drivers manage their races in the rest of the season.
