Sir Graham Wade likely to thrive in Family Day On Sunday 19th August Handicap
The Mark Johnston trained grey colt, Sir Graham Wade, is looking to complete a hat-trick of victories by winning the Family Day On Sunday 19th August Handicap at Pontefract racecourse on Wednesday, August 8. The Class 3 race is scheduled to begin at 4:00 (GMT).
The three-year-old novice runner is well-prepared to take on seven strong rivals to cover the distance of 1 mile, 4 furlongs and 8 yards. For the second time in his 5-race career, the confident colt is going to face the good to firm race conditions.
The talented son of Dalakhani out of Needwood Epic debuted on September 26, 2011, finishing 4th against a dozen of rivals in the very first outing entitled as British Stallion Studs E.B.F./ John Sisk & Sons Maiden Stakes.
The Paul Dean owned runner moved on to finish as the runner-up in the E B F "Franklins Gardens" Maiden Stakes, held at the same venue that he will face today.
Then came the Harriet Powell Maiden Stakes at Doncaster where the young colt gained 8th position. Finally, the enthusiastic sprinter broke his maiden by winning the TurfTV.co.uk Maiden Stakes at Haydock on April 28. Despite being an underdog, he thrived convincingly.
The P. D. Savill bred colt stunned all by notching up top spot in the high-profile race of UBS Stakes (Handicap), held at Goodwood on August 1. That time again, he was a non-favourite runner.
These stats suggest that Sir Graham Wade is carrying a lot of winning drive that will lead him win emphatically in the coming contest.
However, he will have to face the wrath of the Edmaaj on his way towards the finish line. The David O'Meara trained chestnut gelding excellently accomplished a couple of consecutive victories during June 2012. First, he won Richard Howard-Vyse Memorial Handicap at York and then finished first in the Totequadpot Handicap at Pontefract.
These two tremendous triumphs have boosted up the veteran horse’s morale to a great extent. In this scenario, a fierce battle is expected between Edmaaj and Sir Graham Wade. Let us see who of the duo manages to thrive. Good luck to them.
