Sir Henry Cecil’s charge Frankel to compete in the Juddmonte International Stakes
After crushing the competition at Royal Ascot, the four-year-old, Frankel, is now headed to compete in the Group 1 Juddmonte International Stakes at York on 22nd August, 2012, where he will aim to bag another victory in the race that covers a distance of 1 mile, 2 furlongs and 88 yards.
The Juddmonte International Stakes will cover a slightly larger distance than Frankel is used to, but with his impeccable skills, nothing seems impossible.
The world’s highest rated horse claimed his eleventh consecutive victory in the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes on 19th June, 2012, where he finished first by a massive margin of 11 lengths, and defeated the A.P. O’Brien trained, Excelebration, for the fifth time.
Before competing at York, the son of Galileo will head to Goodwood to compete in the Group 1 Qipco Sussex Stakes, which covers a distance of 1 mile on 1st August, 2012.
Previously, everyone wanted to see a clash between the undefeated, Black Caviar, and Frankel, but a battle between the A.P O’Brien trained, Camelot and Frankel seems to be on everyone’s mind now.
The A.P. O’Brien trained, Camelot, is aspiring to become the first Triple Crown winner, since 1970.
He has demonstrated his brilliant talent, and claimed victories in the Qipco 2,000 Guineas Stakes at Newmarket, and the Investec Derby at Epsom.
The next step will be winning the St. Leger Stakes at Doncaster, but his connections might run him at York before the St. Leger, where he will get a chance to compete against the mighty, Frankel.
Monterosso, winner of the Group 1, $10 million Dubai World Cup Sponsored By Emirates Airline at Meydan also holds a spot at York, and chances are that he will use this opportunity to stamp his authority over the rest.
The son of Dubawi, out of mare Porto Roca, was mounted by rider, Mickael Barzalona in the 1 mile and 2 furlong prestigious event, where he defeated, Capponi, by 3 lengths.
The race is already gaining a significant amount of interest from the market, and with such talented runners, it is not a surprise.
Frankel’s every move is watched closely, and another entertaining race from the Sir Henry Cecil trained runner will be welcomed.
