Sir Jackie Stewart: Vettel a deserving world Champ
There are hardly any of the former racers who have not praised the driving skills of Sebastian Vettel since he bagged the first championship of his career, this November. This time it is Sir Jackie Stewart who believes this triumph to be only the beginning
of a long trail of success and victories.
The three time world champion predicted to see an even stronger Vettel on next year’s tracks. Stewart said that the young German has just started bringing out his latent talent and in the years to come, a far mature and more skilled racer will be seen in
him.
Vettel has bagged his first world championship this season racing under the Red Bull umbrella. By winning the title only at the age of 23 year, he has broken the record of the McLaren driver, Lewis Hamilton who became the youngest world champion ever in
2008. Before Hamilton the record was held by the two time title winner, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari.
While talking about Vettel, Stewart said that the driver has been able to achieve a lot at a very young age, which is only a dream for many. He admits that the season was a very tough one and his triumph is certainly very well deserved.
He explained saying, "Sebastian [Vettel] is a young driver. He is 23 years of age. I remember when I was 23, and I told him when I saw him at the Autosport Awards, that was the age when I started to race racing cars. I was 23, and he is world champion at
23.”

He also believes that the other Red Bull driver, Mark Webber is also going to show some brilliant racing next year. He continued saying, "Mark Webber is 34. I know when I was 34 I was a better man than when I was 23, so therefore I think there is a lot more
to come from Sebastian.”

Stewart sees the 2011 grid to be one of the most exhilarating and entertaining one. With five world champs and so many other brilliant racers, he predicts a very exciting 2011 season. Among some of the other racers that performed very well this year, Robert
Kubica stands at the top and Stewart thinks there is no reason why he cannot be a world champion in the upcoming years.
He concluded saying, “You also have Jenson [Button] driving in the smoothest and cleanest way of any driver, and Lewis [Hamilton] is probably the best racer of the whole lot - and the best equipped is still [Fernando] Alonso. You have such a group of extraordinarily
skilled people. I think it's the best field ever."
