Sir Jackie Stewart says Paul di Resta has the talent to manage a difficult race – Formula 1 news
Former Formula 1 Racing driver Sir Jackie Stewart has said that Force India-Mercedes driver Paul di Resta has the talent to manage a difficult race on the grid.
He added that he put a positive step forward towards a bright future by showing impressive performance in the recently held 2011 Hungarian Grand Prix.
Talking to reporters, Stewart said, “When you're a better driver than some, in wet and difficult conditions that shows up, so he was able to take advantage of that and perhaps be a little higher in the finishing order than he might have been had it been
a dry race.”
He went on to add, “That shows you he has got the little bit of extra skill because when it comes to rain and slippery conditions that's when real talent is able to be taken advantage of and you see the result accordingly. Paul di Resta has got a happy future
ahead of him.”
Di Resta had a good time at the Hungaroring race circuit on Sunday, July 31, 2011 in Budapest where he started his race from the 11th place on the opening grid and ended up in the 7th spot.
The Brit was pleased with his seventh place finish in the Budapest race. He said he was confident for the remainder of the ongoing season after getting impressive results in Hungary.
His teammate Adrian Sutil was slow at the Hungaroring race circuit during Sunday’s race. Sutil started his Budapest race from the eighth position on the opening grid and finished his run in the 14th place after putting in a lot of effort.
Force India were dissatisfied with Sutil’s results in Hungary, as they were expecting a points finish from him in the race.
After the Hungarian race weekend, Paul di Resta is looking forward to successful races in the remainder of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Let’s see how both of the drivers perform in the next races of the season after a summer break.
