I don't see how this will help stop global warming do you.

If we all go veggie, then we will not wear leather shoes, and in turn will have to have manmade shoes... hence more output of CO2.

Also not eating animals will not help. Probably too there will be even more palm oil made....which in turn will get rid of more rainforest.

The list is endless.

What are your views.

  1. less cows, less methane gas......stands to reason.

  2. its cos in the amazon they tear down acres of trees to make room for ranches to farm meat-cows etc.

and by reducing the meat we eat there will be less demand for these ranches to be created and less of the amazon will be torn down.

with the amazon being destroyed equals less and less trees means more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, as the trees are needed to breathe in the CO2 we breathe out...

    Hope this helps :D

  3. it was a real  eye opener for me when i found out the costs of meat production.

i have given up eating beef since i calculated i could drive to the nearest town and back, and heat my caravan for 2 evenings on electricity, and only produce as much emissions as from one portion of supermarket beef.

now i need to work it out for cheese....

  4. Sir Paul needs to butt out of my kitchen and get his own life in order.   He would do well to memorize the slogan TWO LEGS GOOD, ONE LEG BAD.

  5. more cattle raising = more C02 because of taking down all the trees.

  6. To put it bluntly (tounge in cheek) the less meat you eat, the less you f**t, the less you f**t, the less methane enters our atmosphere, good eh :o)

  7. Yeah and he's an expert on what?  Where was GW when there were tens of thousands of buffalo roaming the plains?

  8. Brainless...the largest polluter of the Earth is THE EARTH.

We can't save the planet...everything is going to die.

    Econuts are mindless.

  9. He's talking rubbish.

We all need to be VEGAN.

  10. Seeings as it was said that cows parping wasnt helping the ozone, I cant see how Paul McCartney can be right, I mean if we stop eating the cows, there will be more parping then ever hey.

  11. Oh my God, I can't believe this. Well, if this is true, someone needs to tell the crocodiles, lions and any other meat eating world killers out there. Get a grip vegans, you're a vegan by choice, DON'T TAKE MINE AWAY! Guilt won't help, there are far worse things we do to each other than eating meat. I pass sheep on my way to work funnily enough. They look yummy, but not as tasty as those little lambs leaping around. Yum. If it makes you feel better, the little ones' brains are so underdeveloped that it probably wouldn't be completely inaccurate to call them 'vegeatables' anyway.

  12. Just another example of some nut job using global warming, or more precisely the hysteria that has been drummed up around global warming, to advance their own social/political agenda.

  13. Nonsense. And Amazon is not the world's lung, but the ocean is. Yes, killing Amazon is a harm to the world, but killing ocean living forms is worst.

    Ci vediamo!

  14. less cows for food less farts less co2 simple pimple

  15. derr. sir macca ..........brain the size of a beetles!

  16. I cant see anybody doing anything major about global warming ever and the plannet is just going to rot away and we will no longer exist.A major change needs to be made and people dont like or cant deal with major changes so it will never happen im affraid

  17. I hate celebs getting on their high horse about topics when they have NO education regarding the topic.

I bet if you showed him a molecule of CO2 he wouldn't have a clue :P

I think each to their own... the planet will be around and in working order LONG after humans have been wiped out.

  18. He is VERY right. It will help with Global warming. If you could only see the whole picture and take the time to truly research this matter from the beginning then you'll begin to understand. The rain forest are cut down to make room for the cattle to graze. By cutting down of the old growth forest (rain forest) it eliminates just ONE of the vital links that mother nature uses to remove harmfull carbon dioxide and replace it with fresh life giving Oxygen. Read John Robbin book The Food Revelation to start with. The list of things I can give you will probably fill an Encyclopedia explaining the virtues of a vegetarian Lifestyle opposed to meat eating and it's benefits for the Planet including aiding the fight against Global Warming. I don't see how anyone can justify killing innocent animals. Get educated girl!

  19. if you support the meat industry, they will keep breeding cattle and this will increase the output of co2 into the air. also, the cattle industry takes up a LOT more land than growing vegetables does. I'm a vegetarian for many reasons. primarily because I love animals, they don't deserve to die, I love our planet, and being a veggie is a lot healthier than eating meat which leads to colo-rectal cancer, high blood pressure, heart attacks, and many other long-term health problems. I hope this helps.

  20. Put simply, a recent UN study concluded that the raising of animals for food produced more greenhouse gases than all forms of transportation COMBINED.

  21. really, what we need to do is stop overpopulating the planet.

  22. The reason why he said that is because plants or veggies has many energies. When a cow eats the plants, the cow only get 1% of the plant's original energy, and when we eat the cows, we only get 1% of the cows energy, which make us only having 0.1% of the plant's energy. so if we all are vegetarian, then we wouldn't have to eat so many cows or chickens or porks and so on. Because eating plants gives so more energy, you don't need to eat a lot, so it wouldn't really make global warming worst.

  23. lots of fruits and vegetables get shipped in trucks across the country more people need to buy locally or grow thier own when they can it would hep less trucks shipping . I don't think it will end it but it would help a bit.

  24. You make a lot of unwarranted assumptions here. How do you know that non-leather shoes result in more CO2 than leather? Shoes with hemp or cotton uppers shouldn't require any more CO2 producing processing.

I have no idea where the palm oil idea is coming from. What does palm oil made into biofuel have to do with not eating meat? Do vegans drown all their food in palm oil?

I am not eager to give up eating meat but will admit that it is incredibly wasteful. The caloric intake of cattle is much greater than what they supply. Plus, jokes aside, they do emit greenhouse gasses and other solid and liquid waste.

  25. animals are natural air conditioners.

    duh

  26. Every one of that idiots CDs are made of plastic, which are in turn made from crude oil.  So lets start there.

  27. tHEY'RE RIPPing down the Amazon at a rate of knots in order to raise cattle

  28. According to this article about the subject, a UN study concluded the meat industry generated more GH gases than transportation.

    http://www.reuters.com/article/latestCri...

It also states McCartney made these statements in an interview with PETA.  Big surprise.  Everyone's using this as an excuse to preach their pet message.  Just wait until a study comes out proving fair skin causes global warming...because it's ALL the Man's fault!  It's the modern-day Salem witch hunt.

    mmmmm....beefy.

  29. McCartney's pothead pontification of the week.

  30. If we all turned veggie we would still have the same co2 problem, all that wind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  31. I would assume if you grew more plantlife, then this would absorb Co2 and give off more O2.
