Sir Prancealot either to compete in the Coventry Stakes or the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot
The Andrew Tinkler owned Sir Prancealot has a lot of options opening up for him as a result of his improving performances in every other start.
The son of Tamayuz, out of mare Mona Em, will compete at Royal Ascot either in the Norfolk Stakes, that covers a distance of five furlongs on 21st June, 2012, or the Coventry Stakes, which is over a slightly longer distance
at six furlongs on 19th June, 2012.
Trained by Richard Hannon, the two-year-old colt has excelled in the two starts that he has competed in, and will be aiming for a third victory in order to complete his hat-trick.
The two-year-old colt, who was whelped on 14th April, 2010, started his career on 16th May, 2012, where he aced the 5 ½ furlong track at Bath with rider, Dane O'Neill, on his back.
Using his brisk pace to his own advantage, he set the track ablaze and finished 2 lengths ahead of Mick Channon’s charge, Strong Conviction, while Shahdaroba finished third.
The bay colt raced as a joint favourite with Storm Moon, in the Betfair Funds The PJA Doctor National Stakes at Sandown on 31st May, 2012, this time teamed with the skillful jockey, Richard Hughes.
The duo worked extremely well together, dominated the five furlong track and came out on top, 4 ½ lengths ahead of Top Boy, who is trained by Derek Shaw.
Tim Jones, who is the racing manager of owner Andrew Tinkler, discussed his options and stated:
"We'll have a look at both the Norfolk and the Coventry for him."
The owner’s representative further elaborated:
"He'll have the two entries and the sensible approach for his next run is to see what is likely to run in those two races and make a decision nearer the time.
"We have the options with him because he won over just short of six furlongs at Bath and showed plenty of speed to win over five at Sandown.
"Because of his pedigree you wouldn't be worried about him getting the stiff six and further in time.”
The young runner has demonstrated exquisite talent for his age and he is bound to excel in the races to come.
