Sir Prancealot favourite for Coventry Stakes
Sir Prancealot is likely to win the Coventry Stakes (Group 2) at Ascot in England on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. A cash prize of £48,204 has been set for the winner of the class-1 event.
The track will be good to soft in the 6 furlong race, which is scheduled to start at 16:25 GMT, and a total of 23 runners have been attracted towards it. Their names are as follows: Dawn Approach, Sir Prancealot, Cristoforo Colombo, Englishman, Lines Of
Battle, Funk Soul Brother, The Taj, Artigiano, Indian Jade, New Pearl, Olympic Glory, Heavy Metal, Master Of War, King Dragon, Leitir Mor, Party Royal, Living Desert, Top Boy, Whitfield, Baddilini, Mrs Brown´s Boy, Jubilee Brig and Dark Emerald.
Out of the above mentioned runners, Jubilee Brig might miss out on action, as the track conditions do not suit him. He would have been a solid contender for victory, as his record at this level is extremely good.
However, the bookies have now given the best odd to Sir Prancealot, who is also a very good runner and has the skills to outperform his opponents. He has got an impressive speed, which will prove vital in today’s race. The punters will also be interested
in placing a lot of bets on him.
The two-year-old colt has entered a couple of events, winning both of them. He is expected to retain his 100 percent winning record, but will have to be at his absolute best in order to do so.
The Richard Hannon’s trainee was quite impressive in his most recent outing, as he managed to win by four and a half lengths. He was rated as the joint favourite to win and did not disappoint the bookies.
A similar run would definitely help Sir Prancealot complete a hat-trick of victories. He will be ridden by seasoned jockey, Richard Hughes, who has won numerous races at this level. His strike rate is also impressive, which will help him attract a lot of
bets in his favour.
On the other hand, Dawn Approach might also manage to fight at the front today, as he has got excellent statistics at this level. He has entered and won three races, but the track conditions will not be ideal for him.
