The legendary West Indies batsman, Sir Vivian Richards, lambasted the wicketkeeper batsman Denesh Ramdin for his poor performances with the bat in the ongoing Test series against England, calling him ‘a totally lost guy’.
Speaking to the media reporters after http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 lost the second Test against England by nine wickets, the former Windies skipper said that the gloveman looked out of sorts with the bat, the veteran failed to figure out the reason.
"Ramdin just looks out of sorts,” observed the 60-year-old former West Indies skipper, who never lost a series as captain.
“When he first came into the game, I felt he was a huge prospect. For some reason, he has deteriorated in such a big way. Just the way he is walking back, he looks like a totally lost guy," he added further.
Denesh Ramdin, who has been recalled into the side after a gap of two years, scored 1 and 6 in his two innings at Trent Bridge. His performance in the first Test at Lord’s was also below par where he scored just six runs in the first innings before scoring
a painstaking 43 in the second innings.
To date, the 27-year-old wicketkeeper batsman from Trinidad has played 44 Tests, compiling a tally of 1538 runs at an average of 22.28, including one century and eight half centuries.
It was not only Ramdin, rather the fragile Caribbean top-order as a whole collapsed miserably against the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 attack. The Windies were reeling at 61 in their second innings of the second Test at Trent Bridge on Sunday. Openers Adrian
Barath and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/S-Chanderpaul-c2390 (11) also failed to counter the English bowlers.
Middle order batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kirk-Anton-Edwards-c71510, fell for a duck for the second time in four Test innings on tour. Blasting West Indies' disastrous batting at Trent Bridge, Sir Richard felt the Barbadian’ technique was lacking.
"The flaw's in Kirk Edwards's technique, he's looking all over the place. His confidence has been totally destroyed," said the legendary batsman who scored 8,540 in 121 Test appearances at an average of 50.23.
