Sirius Prospect likely to dominate proceedings in New William Hill iPhone App Cammidge Trophy
Sirius Prospect is expected to dominate proceedings in the New William Hill iPhone App Cammidge Trophy (Listed Race) at Doncaster in England on Saturday, March 31, 2012. The triumphant horse will run away with a cash prize of £18,714.
A total of 14 runners have lined up for the class-1 race, which is scheduled to start at 2:40 GMT, and their names are as follows: Sirius Prospect, Royal Rock, Mayson, The Cheka, Bannock, Waffle, Internationaldebut, High Standing, Jimmy Styles, Fratellino,
Pabusar, Boris Grigoriev, Googlette and Sos Brillante.
The going will be good in the race, which will test the speed of all the participants over a short distance of 6 furlongs.
It was not a hard choice for the bookies to rate Sirius Prospect as the favourite for today’s race, as he has been in spectacular form over the past few months. He has won four back to back races, thus the punters will be looking to place quite a few bets
in his favour.
Overall, the four-year-old gelding has entered 11 races until now, winning six of them. Other than that, he finished runner up on a couple of occasions whereas managed a third spot once. This means that there were only two races, where he failed to make
it to the top three.
Dean Ivory’s trainee will be partnered by Shane Kelly, who is a seasoned runner and has been performing pretty consistently in recent times. He will be looking to make a solid impression at Doncaster today.
On the other hand, Royal Rock will also be the one to watch out for, as he is also in good rhythm right now. He has managed to win eight races in his career until now and a couple of those victories came in his previous three outings.
This suggests that the eight-year-old gelding is in great flow and will definitely give a tough time to his rivals. Chris Wall’s trainee will be partnered by Chris Catlin, who has an impressive record at this level. However, the seasoned rider needs to improve
his strike rate in order to attract more bettors towards his horses.
Apart from the top two favourites, Mayson, The Cheka, Bannock and Waffle will also be fighting for victory. They are all very good performers, but will need some luck to finish on top of the table.
