  1. I would buy Starmate - the one you can use both in the car and at home. I have a link to it on my site - CafeYak.com - in the Entertainment section in Gadget Gift Guide.

  2. I got one for my boyfriend at Circuit City and for $75 they will do a professional installation.  All you have to do is buy it, bring his car in for an appointment, and take it home installed!

  3. You can go to www.sirius.com and they have radio's that you can view online. I personally have a starmate and it has been fantastic. The Starmate allows me to move it from one vehicle to the other or you can install it.  Your husband would be able to run it through the Slipseat Box and position the radio within reach or use a remote. Its cool check it out. You do not have to listen to Howard and it still is good.

  4. I refuse to use Sirius because 20% of every dollar you spend on them goes to Howard Stern.

I hate that beaknosed pervert, and refuse to contribute to his bloated salary.

  5. Well, you can buy head units with Sirius from various manufacturers.  I believe manufacturers like Kenwood and JVC.

Or as another poster said, you can buy a "Plug-N-Play" receiver .  For these, you need a vehicle docking kit (most of the receivers come with one).  You can also buy home kits and boomboxes to which you can transfer the receiver back and forth.  Examples of these are the Stratus, Starmate line, and Sportster line.  They vary from about $40 (Stratus) to $160 (Sportster 5).  They all basically have the same functions.  Some have bigger/color displays, etc.

They also have a line of portable radios.  The Cadillac of Sirius radios is the Stiletto 2.  You can record Sirius music, upload and listen to mp3s/WMAs, and stream the Sirius internet radio via a WiFi connection.  The bad thing is that it costs $330 + $50 for the vehicle docking station.
