Sirius radio antenna set up...?

So i just got a sirius radio, and i noticed that you can't put that antenna on the dash well you shouldn't is what it says on there site. My question is would it still be all right to put it on anyways on the dash will i get no siganl? poor signal? or will it catch on fire? I'm also wounder if i was to put it outside how is it in the weather cold and heat? Thanks

  1. extremely poor signal....I have tried it before and it hardly worked so I took the radio to a audio shop to hardwire


  2. It's best on the roof and there are ways to route the wiring so it doesn't get in the way or look too awful. But as Drew (above) says, it works for him and no it won't explode nor anything untoward like that.

  3. No, it will not catch fire.

    I have mine in the center of my dashboard, and it works great.  Don't put it on the side, or the A-pillar will block it's reception.  Put it as far forward as you can, in the center of the dash.
