  1. Try 87.9 if you can, it's completely open unless you live very close to a TV station on Channel 6. You can't drive hundreds of miles without getting interference on any channel, but 87.9 works best. www.radio-locator.com has a tool that shows you which frequencies are clear.

The best thing to do is tune up the dial till you find a frequency that is completely static (and preferable the stations 0.2 Mhz away also static), and use that.

  2. Try different frequencies, some work better than others and some are to close to local stations which will give you interference.

  3. so wait a minute!

these things operate about as well as Ipod car hook ups? I end up having to change the little dial on my Ipod car hookup every 10 miles, and it sounds like Sirius stuff is the same.

    weak stuff!

a buddy of mine's dad has XM in his car and it doesn't need that stuff.

  4. I had this problem and took off my regular car antennae.  Don't worry after having Sirius for a while you will never want to listen to regular radio again.  So you will not need the antennae.

  5. It's not the Sirius radio -- it's the station you've got tuned on your CAR's radio. Find one with no interference. I use 88.1 (I think that's it). There are different frequencies listed in the user's manual of the Sirius radio. Try another one until you find a "clear" channel.

You can also find them listed somewhere on the Sirius radio's menu display.
