Sirius satellite radio question ?

My car AM radio doesn't work at all. On the FM side I only get the stronger signal stations. I wanna get a Sirius satellite radio but I know it needs a certain FM station for it to work in your car. My question is if i get a Sirius radio will it work in my car or will it not because I don't get weaker signal FM stations ?

  1. does your car have an audio/auxiliary jack? if it does, just buy a data cord (looks like a headphone plug on both sides). the fm transmitter should be okay, depending on how many fm stations you have in your listening area. here in tampa, i have a radio station like every 3-5 click on my dial so finding one that is weak enough to transmit through is hard. but if you dont have great reception on many fm stations, you should be fine :D

if all else fails, buy a cheap radio with a data jack. (works the best of all :D)

  2. get it! i have it! i love it! it's the best! howard rules!

  3. You'll be fine. The FM you're concerned about is a low power unit used only to get the Sirius signal from the Sirius radio to your radio using a very low signal. You tune your radio to the same frequency it broadcasts on and pick up your satellite signal on yur car radio. Even someone in the car next to you can't hear it, but you can.

It has nothing to do with the strength of the commecial stations near you.
