Sister got kicked out (she's 16) is there any help available?

My little sister is 16.. and she got kicked out about 4 days ago. mom kicked her out because my sister couldn't manage to find a job to help out with paying for food and such in a certain amount of time, so mom gave her $20 and told her to get out.

My sister has been trying to save as much of the $20 as possible, all she spent some of it on so far was a loaf of bread, and a quick phone call to me... her mom only let her take a sleeping bag, toothbrush, box of granola bars, and the $20.

She called me to ask if I could help..but I can't. I live out of town and have commitments to other things. Plus she say's that she wants to stay in town for when school starts up again..

However I am worried about her. She's been sleeping in a corner of a park at night, and drinking water out of the water fountain at the park. There's no where that she can go.. she tried calling friends but their parents don't want another mouth to feed, and there's no relatives that live nearby.

I doubt $20 is going to last her long, and I'm worried that something might happen to her at night... She said she would call me again later tonight, is there anywhere I could tell her that she could go to for help? (we live in Canada if that helps....)

  1. family always comes first and no matter wat you need to get your sister with you or a relative and if she wants to stay that bad well then but her in a hotel, motel, or somthing that is not safe at all and if the other friends could keep her for a night or two at a time or somthing that is not safe expecially today  GO GET HER

  2. oh my God!!!

What horrible parents and horrible situation!!!

I do not live in Canada, so I cant help

but try to go online and search YOUTH help or something of the sort. Where I live, there are shelters for youth. They give them their own room and help them for two months during that period they help them find a job and can stay living there if they are good kids..

YOU NEED TO HELP HER THIS WORLD IS FULL OF CRAZY PEOPLE FOR HER TO BE SLEEPING IN A PARK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.

  3. Check if there is any homeless shelters. They may be able to help since she is only 16.

  4. please call the police now -

have her go to  a church and tell the priest- they will help her

I am so sorry for her ... hurry before something bad happens to her

you dont want to feel guilty

  5. your mom cant kick her out at such i young age she has to be 18 and up for that to happen plus shes old a noth tell her to get  a job at sub way or somthing then maby your mom well bring her back

  6. You should encourage her to come live with you.  Since you are a relative, you can probably get compensation for taking her in.  Start with the police or social services.  You have commitment's, but she is your sister and at 16 she needs help right now.  You did not state why mom threw her out, it could be a number of reasons.  Check with your Canadian official for an issue of this magnitude.  I live in America and out laws with issues like this could be different.

  7. i believe that 20$ will get her real far in life

  8. i am so sorry! that must be horrible! you could try to get her to an adoption center or something as soon as possible because sleepin at the park at night is just horrible shes gonna get raped or hurt or sumthing! has she tried talking with ur mother?

  9. Your Mother is responsible for her until she is 18, it is against the law in America to kick a girl of 16 out.

  10. tell the police where she is

and they will find her a home
