Well, I started doing crunches a couple days ago. But problem is, I'm kinda over weight, so I didn't lose the fat first before I started doing sit ups.

I did 100 sit ups every day and my stomach doesn't look thinner, but even bigger?

Uhm...Is the muscle buiding underneath?

  1. I had the same problem so i started doing 45 minutes cardio before 100 crunches :]

  2. Actually, that's a HUGE misleading fact. That doing "X amount of situps/day is gonna get you a six pack!" It won't. You need cardio. Cardio is anything that gets your heart rate up. Running, Skipping, Swimming, GARDENING! Burn the fat! You've probably built yourself a nice six pack underneath a layer of fat. Good luck! Make sure to eat healthy and exercise.

  3. Yes, for a short while, you will actually gain some weight, and the muscles you're working will seem to bulge under the existing fat. But after about three weeks, the muscle will begin to eat away at the fat, toneing your stomach, and dropping the pounds.

100 sit ups is fantascic. Keep it up! ^_^

((Oh, and just a P.S, cardio will not build much muscle, but it will strenghten your lung capasity and endurance))

  4. are you sucking in your stomach? if your not, you're actually pushing the muscles out :p so just suck in your stomach as much as you can.  :)

  5. Well, muscle weighs more than fat , so if you actually weighed yourself, you wouldn't see your weight get any smaller. but usuaully it would take a while to see the muscles.

  6. you cant just do crunches without the cardio.
