  1. Sit spin! Great! Those are fun once you get the hang of it!

First off, shoot the ducks is a great way to get used to the form of the sit spin, and will strengthen your thighs. Keep in mind though, that shoot the ducks are on a straight line (or curve). This means your back must be bent over a little bit to keep your balance, and keep moving. In a sit spin, however, the centripetal force should keep you in position. So in the spin try to straighten your back, but not all the way, and tuck your bottom in. Keep your thighs together, arms togethera, and point your toe.

If you fall over alot then it might be because of your weight. All your weight must be on your spinning foot so you don't fall over. it also might be because your thighs are not yet used to all the weight being held up. To improve this do shoot the ducks on and off ice, do wall squats or knee squats (Where your knees are bent at 90 degree angles), and any other exercise that will help strengthen your legs.

You want to go into the spin with a snap. Pull everything together and try to go down as far as you can. Focus on maintaining the position. It doesn't matter if you fall down. Just focus on the position, and get to know how it feels. And if your other leg is wrapping around your spinning leg a little (Called tea cupping) then it's okay! In time you will eventually make your leg straight

Ask your coach for more tips too! I hope this will help you, and good luck!
