My fiance and I have a wedding date set for 10-4-2008. I know its coming up pretty quick, but its our anniversary and we both want a small intimate ceremony. With only immediate family and very close friends. Less than 20 people. We thought of going to Lake Tahoe and having a small inexpensive ceremony there and then a reception at a nice restaurant, but with Lodging and gas prices it seems to add onto our very small budget of $2,000 ( $3,000 Max!!!) Both his mom and 88 yrold grandma are flying in from the east coast to be there. We kinda wanna avoid anymore long distance driving. Any ideas or thought of where we can say our I-do's and then party after? Or even better, where we can say our I-do's and have the party there? Any place in the south bay?? HELP?!?!

  1. Have you thought about those Japenese gardens in San Jose?  You know, with the coy ponds?  There's also a beautiful garden in Palo Alto near Stanford called ... something like "Elizabeth Gardens" or SOMETHING... I'm not sure exactly, but I'm pretty sure it's a woman's name.  That's where I had my bridal photos done.  It's gorgeous there.  I don't know if either of those two places charge, though, to have a ceremony.  Good luck with everything!

  2. have you thought about  a public park, not the one with the swing sets and all the play structure material. But the park by the ocean i forget where but it's easy to find. My cousin had her wedding at a park by the water. And it was public park so she really didn't have to talk to anyonw about where we could and couldn't have it.

I hope i helped. I wish the best for you and your family.
