Question:

Sites to See While Traveling?

So, Im moving in three weeks from North Carolina to Kansas! My brother and I will be driving the whole way and I figured that rather than driving straight through I'd like to stop and see the sites. We will be going through Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois and Missouri. If ya'll know of any cool, relatively inexpensive places to see I'd love to hear about them! Thanks for your help!

  1. Hi. I moved from the southeast to Kansas for school just a few years ago.

Stop in Metropolis, Illinois, Superman's hometown. See the giant Superman statue & go to the museum/gift shop (free).  http://www.roadsideamerica.com/attract/I...

Be sure to plan your route so you drive right by the Arch in St. Louis (rather than taking the loop around the city). There is a lot to do in St. Louis http://www.explorestlouis.com/visitors/2...

Ozarkland in Missouri is a kitschy, campy, tacky giant gift shop. I didn't buy anything but had fun anyway. http://www.route40.net/culture/attractio...

FYI: Stops get few & far between the further away from the east coast you get.  So do the Stucky's (e.g. pecan logs). On the other hand, Missouri has a lot of (creepy) "adult" stores right next to truck stops.

    For Indiana: http://www.visitindiana.net/
