Question:

Sitting an exam at home etc?

Hello all, I had to drop out of school on account of a mental condition (severe sociophobia) and now I've hit 25 I really want to go back and resit my exams. I did badly because of the exam conditions being damaging to my condition, and so now I'm looking for a way to get qualified without having to attend a final exam at an examination centre. I realise this sounds stupid as the whole idea of sitting them in centres is to prevent cheating, so I'm not really expecting there to be an answer. But it's worth a try eh? Anyone know if there's a way to do my exams at home?

  1. It is highly unlikely that you would get an invigilator to come to your home. It would also be very expensive.

You could however do a course work based qualification with no exams. Or you could attend an exam centre but do exams on your own with just an invigilator.

  2. Yer! Do as the 'WHOEVER HE\SHE IS' said!

  3. Yes, the exam board will provide an invigilator to sit with you. Contact the exam board well in advance to make this arrangement.

  4. It is possible the examination board will send an invigilator to your house, however it is highly unlikely.

I agree with the other user who said you can do "exams" that are all coursework based with no "real" examinations.

You can enroll at your local college and do a night-course, I did this after I failed my GCSE maths. There was only 10 people doing the course and the exam was held after 10 months doing the course.

    Good luck with everything.
