  1. from the book  of fiction called the bible

    regards x kitti x

  2. I'm going to be there !! It's slang

  3. The meaning of the phrase Yah Mo B There is probably "God Will Be There."

Another popular interpretation of the song's title/chorus is an urbanization of the phrase "Yeah, I'm going to be there," or "Yeah, I'm a be there." This interpretation is supported by the first stanza, which discusses people's tendency to take from each other without giving in return. By concealing the phrase within an Ebonic shell, the person who cries out for help (by singing the song) is subliminally telling themselves they will be there to help themselves and others. This phrasing is more in line with the axiom, "God helps those who help themselves." However, according to the liner notes on Michael McDonald's greatest hits, the original title and chorus was "Yahweh be there," but they felt that the explicitly religious theme would affect its hit potential so they changed it to "Yah Mo" and let the listener interpret the meaning for themselves.

"Yah Mo B There" was released as a single in late 1983, peaking at #19 on the U.S. charts in 1984.

  4. I think Ya is another word for Jah. Maybe a Jamaican connection, but I could be wrong. God will be there whenever you call.

  5. I'm gonna been there.

  6. ill be there.

  7. I thought it meant God will be there.

    xx

  8. David: Hey, Paula.

    Paula: Yeah?

David: I gotta tell you something. I'm really excited about it. Uh, for the first time, today, I woke up, I came to the store, and I - I feel confident to say to you that if you don't take this Michael McDonald DVD - that you've been playing for two years straight - off, I'm going to kill everyone in the store and put a bullet in my brain!

Paula: David, what do you suggest we play?

David: I don't care. Anything! I would rather - I would rather watch "Beautician And The Beast". I would rather listen to Fran Drescher for eight hours than have to listen to Michael McDonald. Nothin' against him, but if I hear "Yah Mo B There" one more time, "Yah Mo" burn this place to the ground.

Paula: You're such a smart***. Get back on the floor!

    [Paula walks away]

    David: [cough-mutters] Ah-**** you!

    --------------------------------------...

I know, this may have actually been a serious question, but this is all I could think of.  Yah Mo means "I'm going to".

    (quote from The 40-Year-Old Virgin)

  9. My understanding is that the original line was to be:

Yahweh Be There.  Yahweh meaning the God of the Old Testament.  The writers felt it was too religious & controversial & shortened it to: Yah Mo B There.

    Hope this helps.
