Situation in favour of Hoo La Baloo in Grand Military Gold Cup at Sandown
Hoo La Baloo, who has plenty of good form at Sandown, is looking strong for the Grand Military Gold Cup, being held on Friday, March 09, 2012. Sponsored by the Military Mutual, the Chase For Amateur Riders is due to get underway at 15:30 (GMT).
The 3m110y event has 10 speedy runners in the line-up. The winning contestant will grab a cash prize worth £5,615. Among are entries are: Hoo La Baloo, Red Harbour, Sizing America, Teddy´s Reflection, Battlecry, Vincitore, Masked Man, Investment Affair,
Bolachoir and Zhukov.
Hoo La Baloo has been producing good results at Sandown since the beginning of his career. The list of his triumphs includes a success in this race five years ago. Hence, Paul Nicholls’ trainee looks a major player in today’s race.
The 11-year-old is making his seasonal return after staying out of action for almost seven months. Yet, nobody can take anything away from him, as the gelding knows this track very well.
His latest success came in June last year, when he sealed an emphatic victory in the Senior Citizens Discount Raceday 22nd June Handicap Chase at Worcester.
Red Harbour is another contender who has fair chances of winning. D. J. Staddon’s trainee is also making his first trip of the season. In his previous race, the eight-year-old finished fourth on the table.
Nobody can forget his classy win in the Join 888sport, Get £50 Free Bets Novices' Chase at Fontwell in September last year. The Chris Giles-owned is making his first trip after moving out of Nicholls’ stable, and he will look to continue doing well.
Victories are not coming to Teddy's Reflection’s way, although the nine-year-old has been doing a decent job this season. In his latest race, he secured second place, finishing behind Cave Hill. Sizing America also did well in his last race, finishing third
in the Royal Artillery Gold Cup at Sandown.
Conclusion
Hoo La Baloo has plenty of experience under his belt, but his former stable mate, Red Harbour, will be a huge threat.
Teddy's Reflection and Sizing America might cause an upset, but the real contest will be between Hoo La Baloo and Red Harbour. Regardless of the final result, it is going to be an awe-inspiring event.
