Six Gunners ready to be loaned out (Part 2)
2. Craig Eastmond
Craig Eastmond is also one of the few young guns who have featured in Arsenal senior team. Last season, the talented defensive midfielder had managed to make seven appearances, four of which were in the physicality of the Barclays Premier League.
The 20-year-old is a powerful, tenacious player who is blessed with great control, pace, and strong physique. Boasting extraordinary versatility, Craig Eastmond can play in any defensive role or as a defensive midfielder.
Arsene Wenger is a keen admirer of Eastmond’s intelligence in reading of the game. However, it looks like the Englishman is struggling to make a sufficient impact on Arsene Wenger’s plan, as he was only on the bench in the latest League Cup fixture and did
not get any playing time.
Furthermore, the young English sensation is yet to enjoy a loan spell. Arsenal’s two defensive midfielders; Emmanuel Frimpong and Francis Coquelin both are out of action for this whole season. It gives Craig Eastmond an added advantage because he is the
only defensive midfielder left at Emirates to replace Arsenal’s senior team defensive midfielder Alexander Song.
In addition to that, Alexander Song will be out of action in January for the African Nations Cup. This could prove to be a great opportunity for Craig Eastmond but still a loan spell looks more promising for him.
3. Connor Henderson
Last season, Connor's outstanding form in the reserves and youths team ensured him a place on the Gunners’ bench for last few fixtures of the campaign. But the 19-year-old was not given a first team place by Arsene Wenger.
Moreover, it looks improbable that Connor will be given many chances this season because Arsenal midfield is already crowded with some big guns. Connor could thrive under a spell with a Coca Cola Championship or League One club.
The Englishman is undoubtedly one of the best emerging young guns. The 19-year-old shows great promise, and he is expected to be a consistent first team player in the coming years for Arsenal.
4. Thomas Cruise
Thomas Cruise was given his first professional Arsenal’s first team start in the UEFA Champions League last season. Cruise started at left of the backline and showed promising traits.
A tough, imposing centre back with natural pace and control, Thomas Cruise is strong and versatile. The celebrity namesake ‘Cruise’ has been touted as the third choice left back, but he has expressed his desire to go abroad on a loan stint.
Albeit it looks unlikely the centre back will receive any first team opportunity this season, which is why a loan spell would be ideal.
5. Gilles Sunu
Gilles Sunu is a powerful, extremely talented striker with a huge future in football. The young French sensation is also rated as one of the players who can become the next big thing in World Football.
Sunu, skipper of France ‘Under 19’, has been an inspirational player for the reserves since joining from French side in 2007.
Furthermore, Sunu’s eye catching performances earned him appearances in the League Cup and also in UEFA Champions League last season. The skipper has been targeted by a number of European sides who have enticed him with the chance to play consistent first
team football.
However, there are talks of Sunu being loaned out Derby Country. A short stint of loan would earn him the much needed experience.
6. Cedric Evina
Cedric Evina is currently the skipper of Arsenal’s reserve team. This youngster is a highly talented defender with great pace, vision, and strength. The 19-year-old is able to play as a central or wide defender and is confident on both feet. The Cameroon
international is in urgent need of loan spell.
