Six Nations to Seven Nations?

I was just wondering when will Six Nations become Seven Nations, and which nation will be the seventh?

I say lets kick it really old school and bring back the four nations tournament.  All joking aside though, I really don't think there is a seventh nation out there right now that could compete.  This past six nations was the first one where Italy even did "well."

If there will be a seventh nation, it will definitely be Romania.

I agree with andy, Italy is still borderline... who you think next?? Spain, Romania, Russia????? NO WAY!!!

I think that Argentina could be let into the TriNation even though the have no chance (yet)

About 10 years ago or so Canada was lobbying to be included in the 5 nations. Unfortunatly, I think with outright professionalism the game has progressed and Canada has fallen further behind the Rugby powers of this world.

The truth is that if these other countries do not play games at this level, they will never learn to play at this level.  They may get pummeled for a few years, but there will eventually be changes made to adapt.

EXAMPLE =

The first USA Dream Team Basketball team pummeled everyone.  Now they cannot win a championship to save their lives.  Everyone figured out how to pl;ay at their level.....

I don't think there are, at present, any Western European countries that play rugby well enough to make it worth having them in.

Even Italy's a bit borderline.

It would be good to bring in Russia, as they would have the biggest player base, I assume.

I totally agree with the other answerers who say other teams should play, as it would increase their play.

The problem would come down to the patronage at these games, and whether the sponsors can get their money back, etc.

If Canada were included, it would stop being a European tournament, although it could then be a northen hemisphere tournament.  Not that I have anything against Canada.

I doubt any of this will happen in the next 5 years, but you never know.  The experiment with Italy is not yet complete.
