Six Reasons why Dallas Mavericks won the game-6 of NBA Finals – NBA Special Report (Part-1)

The Dallas Mavericks were thinking only about their first NBA championship title on Sunday when they set foot in the American Airlines Arena to take on Miami Heat in the game-6 of the Finals. Soaring and scoring since the last
two meeting, the streaking Mavericks continued to dominate the proceedings and romped towards a comprehensive 105-95 victory to win the NBA Championship for the very first time in the franchise history.
Five years before, Miami treated the Mavericks in the same fashion by eliminating the home team Dallas in the sixth game of the NBA Finals. The payback was executed accordingly by the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night as they were
successful in returning the favour.
The 7-footer influential power forward Dirk Nowitzki has been running the offensive system of the team commandingly throughout this year’s play-offs as the All-star received a huge boost from the prolific bench player Jason Terry
in the game six of the series. Fuelled with the determination to land the Larry O’ Brien Trophy this time, the Mavericks showed no signs of retreat and restricted Miami from forcing the contest to the game seven.
The Champions displayed a perfect example of teamwork which guided them on the top over Miami.
Dallas’ head coach Rick Carlisle said after the game, "This is a true team. This is an old bunch. We don't run fast or jump high. These guys had each other's backs. We played the right way. We trusted the pass. This is a phenomenal
thing for the city of Dallas."
The big reasons Dallas Mavericks won the game-6 of the NBA Finals are discussed below.
Jason Terry’s best performance against Miami Heat
The reserve guard Terry who had a slow start in the series posted his best performance of the Finals on Sunday to spearhead the Mavericks for their first Championship title. Jason erupted with a game-high 27 points and kept the
score board ticking for the team.
Dirk marvelled on Terry’s outstanding performance and said, "Was he unbelievable tonight or what?"
Jason’s major domination came from the field as he connected 11 shots out of 16 attempts. The 33-year-old guard powered the Mavericks from beyond the arc as well and landed three scorching blows from downtown.
In the last meeting on Thursday, Jason showcased his brilliance down the stretch and this time Dallas’ bench player was all over the court and continued to provide fireworks right from the beginning.
"All those unique individual stories is what propelled us to this victory," Terry said.
Jose Juan Barea’s substantial support

Despite of being the smallest player on the court, Mavericks’ point guard Jose Juan Barea played a big game for the team. Barea posted one of his best performances of the play-offs as well as he landed 15 points, handed out 5
assists and clutched 3 boards.
Barea created the influence by breaking into Miami’s defence and diluted the defensive system of the opposition.
