Six Reasons why Dallas Mavericks won the game-6 of NBA Finals – NBA Special Report (Part-2)
Miami’s star trio choked
Miami Heat’s star trio of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh failed to match the Dallas Mavericks’ brilliance in all of the four quarters. Even though the big 3 carried the momentum for their team however they were utterly
dominated by the untiring assault from the Mavs.
Bosh appreciated the play of Dallas and said, "All I remember is telling those guys that they deserved it. Hands down, they were the better team in this series. ... All we can do is just admit it and move forward."
The small forward James racked up a team-high 21 points and dished out 6 assists as he missed a number of opportunities in the fourth quarters. LeBron struggled throughout the series against the Mavericks however he showcased a
good performance on Sunday but not great.
Bosh scored 19 points and gathered 8 rebounds in more than 38 minutes of playing time. Although he shot a decent percentage from the field and the charity strip however he failed to take to many shots to keep the score board ticking
for Heat
Wade has been stimulating the offensive system for Miami in the NBA Finals however the sharp-shooter fell short to post an outstanding performance on the day when James and Bosh provided a significant support. Dwyane scored 17
points and shot a skimpy percentage from the field which provided room to the Mavericks to exploit the situation.
Miami’s struggles from the charity stripe
Miami Heat had an open opportunity to win the game after receiving almost twice more free throws. If Heat had capitalized on the 33 attempts they made from the charity strip, the result would have been a different one. The team
missed 13 free throws and they lost the game by 10 points. Miami’s struggle from the free throw line opened the doors for the opposition to sneak in forcefully.
Shooting from beyond the arc
The Mavericks buried 33 points from beyond the arc and smashed the Heat out of the game. DeShawn Stevenson, Jason Terry and Jason Kidd powered the team from the 3-point range and dominated the opposition commandingly.
On the other hand, Miami Heat scored only 21 points from downtown.
Rick Carlisle outcoached Erik Spoelstra
The 51-year-old Rick Carlisle assembled his team magnificently and made the accurate adjustment to hamper the offensive play of Miami. While Erik Spoelstra couldn’t do anything about Miami’s offence failing big time. One of the
biggest failures Miami faced was in the game 2 when they blew 15 points lead in the fourth quarter. Even after an upsetting turnaround, Heat continued to struggle in the fourth quarter.
Dirk Nowitzki’s performance as a leader
Last but not the least, everybody on the team knew they had the brilliance of Dirk Nowitzki at their back which kept them motivated throughout the game. The big man not only had a psychological effect, he also marshalled the Dallas
Mavericks with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
Since 2000-2001 season, Nowitzki guided his team consistently into the pay-offs on the quest of furnishing a championship title on his resume. The elongated hunt for the title finally ended for Dirk as the NBA Finals ended in high
spirits for Dallas.
"I really still can't believe it. We worked so hard and so long for it. The team has had an unbelievable ride."Nowitzki said.
