  1. Well, I've purchased a gold flash pass before, and it was one of my best decisions ever!  It allowed me to get on 30+ rides in a day, when I would've only gotten 3.  What a deal!

It works like this.  You purchase your flash pass, then they give you a little electronic device.  It is in an oval shape, and has a screen in the middle, and two buttons on the sides for selecting rides.  When they activate it, you will see a list of rides that may change throughout the day.  You select the ride you want to ride, and it "reserves" a spot in line for you.  If you got a regular flash pass, you will have to wait the same time as the line is long, only you can do whatever you want while waiting that time.  With a gold flash pass, you can select your ride and get on within 3 minutes.  Anyway, when the time comes, it will vibrate, telling you to go up the exit of the ride where an employee will re-set it.  You can use it as many times as you can fit in for the day you bought it.  You should read the exact rules at the park, though.  They are not like fast passes at Disney, and have to be returned at the end of the day, a half hour before the park closes.

I've purchased one from Six Flags Great America, and I don't think it is different anywhere else.    You can see a picture of one here:  http://www.legoland.co.uk/NR/rdonlyres/6...
