Six players who must make it big in the 2011-2012 English Premier League season (Part 1)
As the summer transfer window dealings go on and as manager’s struggle to hold onto their best players, it is now the time to take a look at some of the players who will have the weight of the world on their shoulders in the 2011-2012
season. With so many expectations associated with them, will these individuals falter or impress?
Andy Carroll
Liverpool’s 35 million pound man has been maligned just because of the price tag that has been associated with him ever since his big money move from Newcastle United to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809. Kenny Dalglish has used the young Englishman sparingly
but Carroll’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 test will come when Liverpool start of the next English Premier League season. Carroll has had his fair share of problems in the past; the young striker has been touted up as a spoilt English footballer who indulges in drinking more often
than not. His tendencies to party beyond hours are well documented already and on top of that the English press will be on his back with every move he makes on the field.
As the second most expensive player in the history of English football, Carroll must impress and lead the Liverpool revival charge. The Merseyside Reds are a club on the rise after finishing 7th and 6th for
two consecutive seasons in the English Premier League. Under Dalglish, Liverpool are mending their ways but now they will depend upon the talents of Andy Carroll. Most critics have pointed out that Carroll is just a poor man’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044 minus all the intelligence.
Moreover Carroll has a point to prove to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello. With the European Championships coming up in 2012, Andy Carroll will want to be a part of England’s squad but that can only be achieved with fantastic performances for Liverpool in the regular Premier
League season.
Aaron Ramsey
The next season will surely be a make and break one for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aaron-Ramsey-c3065. The Welsh midfielder was seen as the next big thing at the Emirates stadium but Ryan Shawcross’ tackle put Ramsey out of commission for a short period of time
(read one year more or less). Now Aaron is back in action, he was at the heart of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429’s victory over Manchester United near the end of the 2010-2011 Premier League season. However despite Ramsey’s best efforts Arsenal failed to secure any sort of silverware
at the end of the season.
Nonetheless, Ramsey showcased that he is fit and ready to take part in Arsenal’s next league charge. The Gunners are under fire as a club as both of their first choice midfielders, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360 and Cesc Fabregas want to part ways
with the club. Fabregas seems like the likelier of the two midfielders to leave and if that happens onus will fall on Ramsey to take his place. At just 20 years of age, Ramsey is still young and has his best years ahead of him. It will be interesting to see
whether or not Wenger trusts the Welshman with first team responsibilities as with a full pre-season behind him, Ramsey will be ready to take lead the Gunners from the midfield area.
