Six runners to compete in Throstles Nest Wigton Intermediate Handicap Hurdle
Only six runners will be competing in the Throstles Nest Wigton Intermediate Handicap Hurdle at Carlisle in England on Thursday, October 25, 2012. All of them have been trained really well, thus the spectators will be looking forward to an absorbing action
in the class-3 encounter, which is scheduled to start at 16:30 GMT.
Most of the runners have been performing well in recent times, which will make things interesting at the end of the day. However, the weather will play an important role in determining the winner of the race.
There has been a lot of rain at Carlisle, which has left the track as soft. This will put a lot of stress on the runners and some of them might even opt to withdraw from the 2 mile 1 furlong contest, as the chances of sustaining an injury are more compared
to a normal race.
On the other hand, there are some participants, who will definitely enjoy the rain affected ground and they will be seeing this as an opportunity of winning the cash prize of £4,549 in the end.
One of those stallions will be Ahyaknowyerself, who has been given the best odds for victory today. He has got a pretty decent record and has been doing a very good job for his team during the ongoing season.
The six-year-old gelding has appeared in 11 races over hurdles and has managed to win three of them. He is not overly dependent on track conditions, thus will not be worried about the rain at Carlisle.
However, Pas Trop Tard has recently found the winning touch and it will be quite difficult to prevent him from finishing ahead of others. He is chasing the first ever hat-trick of his career and the punters should definitely risk some bets in his favour.
In his penultimate outing, the Maurice Barnes’ trainee was given a starting price of 25 to 1 and no one would have been expecting a strong run from him. He proved his critics wrong though and secured the top spot comfortably.
This victory gave a lot of confidence to him and he managed to dominate the proceedings next time around as well. Both these victories came under jockey, Michael McAlister, who will be accompanying him once again today.
