Six runners to take part in Magners Golden Draught Novices´ Chase
Only six runners have been attracted towards the Magners Golden Draught Novices´ Chase at Exeter in England on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. The winner of the class-4 event will be awarded a cash prize of £3,249.
The stamina of all participants will be tested in the race, as they will have to cover an overall distance of 2 miles, 3 furlongs and 110 yards. The going will be good to firm and the action is scheduled to begin at 16:00 GMT.
Following are the entries confirmed for the event: Easter Meteor, Webberys Dream, Heron Bay, Lupita, Galantos and Ronnie Ronalde.
The bookies have given the best odds to Easter Meteor, who is a very good competitor. He has a decent record in chase races, thus the punters will be encouraged to place a lot of bets in his favour today.
The six-year-old gelding has taken part in three chase races until now, winning one of them. In addition to that, he has also secured one runner up
and a third place spot each, which suggests that he is quite capable of fighting for victories regularly. He has never finished out of top three in such events.
Easter Meteor was unable to deliver a winning show in his most recent race, as he finished third overall. He was up against some quality runners, thus struggled to challenge them in the end.
The Emma Lavelle’s trainee will be ridden by seasoned jockey, Dominic Elsworth, who has won 54 races while chasing. He does not have an impressive strike rate, thus needs to wok more on his consistency.
On the other hand, Webberys Dream will also be the one to watch out for in the race. He has entered four chase races until now, winning one of them. Moreover, he has also secured a couple of runner up positions. The bettors will certainly risk some
money in his favour today.
The Jeremy Scott’s trainee will be partnered by Matt Griffiths, who has won 16 chase races at a good strike rate. He needs to bring more consistency in his performances in order to attract more bets.
Heron Bay might also be the one fighting for victory at Exeter today. However, the real battle will be amongst Easter Meteor and Webberys Dream.
