“Six runs after two outs was key for us,” Says Cleveland Indians manager Manny Acta
With what strategy the Indians will be going into the 2012 Major League Baseball season was the biggest strategic point of discussion for the entire Cleveland Indians’ management in the recent offseason.
From the start, the Tribe’s front office remained busy to introduce new and somewhat productive game plan for their baseball team while they also finally do able to achieve a new offensive approach which is currently helping them in a huge manner as well.
According to the new game plan which Indians manager Manny Acta says a, “Six runs after two outs was key for us, And the way we did it was putting up good at-bats. Two-out rallies are huge, Sometimes pitchers will get two outs and let up a little. So if the next guy can put up a quality at-bat, he has a chance to start something. I understand that’s the way it had to be, But it’s bad, because you see every pitcher’s misses or you’re not getting calls. It’s very nerve-wracking. I’d rather be in the dugout.”
The above statement of Acta not only represents the new game-approach of the Indians, but also explains about the recent performances of the Indians’ starting lineup in the ongoing MLB competition.
Currently the Indians are playing well into the third week of the season. They have finished first three-game regular series against the Toronto Blue Jays, Chicago White Sox and Kansas City Royals.
The first outing against the Blue Jays was little tough as they lost the series with 2-1. Later the White Sox defeated the Indians 2-0 while they bounced back in third series rattling the Kansas City Royals 3-0 and proved their new offensive game approach.
Looking at those particular three-game series, experts have different opinions on it. Some say the Indians are not feeling comfortable and their offensive strategy is not working.
However, some say, keeping in mind the Indians’ performance against the Royals’, that the Tribe’s management has worked well in this recent past offseason and in the coming days they will be achieving similar kind of performances if they continued their power play.
