Six samurai *sacrificing effect* question?

i had little confusion on spirit of the six samurai card...if my opponent plays lightening vortex or torrential while i had 1 grandmaster equiped with spirit of six samurai and two yaichiss on my field, does alll the cards get destroyed? or does the equipped grandmaster get saved by the spirit effect? and other destroyed. same goes for legend ebon steed

people were arguing over that and i didnt get a clear answer.

i would say that the grandmaster would be saved if you used either legendary ebon steed or spirit of the six samurai. the other monsters would not be saved unless they were also equipped to a union monster or other card that prevented the monster from being destroyed. after all if you read the text it says 'if this monster would be destroyed'. it doesnt specifically say if this monster would be destoyed by magic/spell/effect/ or battle. so basically the grandmaster is saved because the text doesnt specify the manner in which the monster has to be destroyed, however your union monster or equip card would be destroyed. hope this helps..
