Six things Miami Heat should do to keep their Championship hopes alive – NBA Special Report (Part-2)
Exploit the Home-court Advantage
The remaining two games of the NBA Finals will be played at the American Airlines Arena, Miami Heat’s own building where they have been a bigger threat for every opposition in the play-offs. Even though Miami’s lone defeat at their
home-court during this year’s post-season came against the Dallas Mavericks in the game-2. However Heat being a better team at home cannot be denied.
"We fought hard all season for home-court advantage. We're down 3-2. We protect home court; we win the series, so we just have to keep that in mind." Bosh said.
Miami not only has the advantage of their own building in the last two games, the dominating support from the fans is also waiting for them which electrifies the performances of their star players and have a great influence on
the opposition. Heat needs to exploit the advantage and strike back aggressively in the series.
Keep Dwyane Wade on the court
The prolific shooter Dwayne Wade has been a constant scoring threat for the Dallas Mavericks in the Finals. Despite lacking support from the All-Star LeBron James, Wade continued to provide fireworks on the offence and showed no
signs of retreat.
Miami should give more time to Dwyane on the court who keeps the score board ticking for the team. Wade was the man behind Miami’s success in 2006 when they outshined the Dallas Mavericks in the Finals to clinch their first championship
title. This time the influential shooting guard has two big guns James, and Chris Bosh to carry the momentum. So Heat needs to play more with Wade and leave the rest on LeBron and Chris.
Infuse some energy down the stretch
One of the major problems Miami Heat has faced against the streaking Mavericks is carrying the momentum till the end. Even after procuring a massive lead before entering the fourth quarter, Miami failed to seal a victory followed
by a couple of surprising meltdowns. This is where Heat is lacking big-time.
Miami needs to keep themselves intact throughout the game and make sure they carry the action in the crunch time. For this, the team should play their superstar in the fourth quarter even if they are leading by a big margin and
keep soaring until the last second of the game.
Give it a last final push
Miami will be setting foot on the court for the next game with a do or die situation. They can either cement their chances for the title fight or say good-bye to the championship rings. This is the final time for the team to stimulate
the Heat and provide their best at their home games. Dallas Mavericks will continue to show aggressiveness, it’s on Miami now how they tackle the situation and make a strong comeback to clinch the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
