It is an intricate task to put together a list of sixteen best football clubs in the world. All the clubs in this list have earned the right to be called ‘Giants’ of modern day football by winning many titles in their own countries as well as in Europe.
So, the list goes in the order as follows:
Real Madrid F.C.:
This club without a doubt earns a spot in the top sixteen as it is one of the finest clubs in the world. Its famous legends are Raul, Ferenc Puskas and Alfredo Di Stefano just to name a few.
The club has won thirty one La Liga titles, seventeen Copa del Rey titles, eight Supercopa de Espana, nine UEFA Champions Leagues, two UEFA Europa Leagues, one UEFA Super Cup and three FIFA Club World Cups.
The club's current stars include Cristiano Ronaldo, Iker Casillas and Kaka. The future for this club seems bright as to add to all this raw talent, they also have one of the best football coaches in the world.
At present, Jose Mourinho is in full throttle to again bring the La Liga trophy to Real Madrid but they face a huge challenge from their other Spanish competitors like Barcelona, who are adamant on defending their last year’s title.
Liverpool F.C.:
Liverpool is one of the most flourishing clubs in all of England. In 2005, they achieved one of their supreme victories in football history. Liverpool fans have almost always held the sort of pride that most other club fans just can’t feel.
Some notable football legends from this club are Alan Hansen, Ian Callaghan and Ian Rush.
The club's titles go in the order: Eighteen Premier Leagues, seven FA Cups, fifteen FA Community Shields, five UEFA Champions Leagues, three UEFA Europa Leagues and three UEFA Super Cups.
Its current star players include Fernando Torres, Pepe Reina and Steven Gerrard.
AC Milan:
AC Milan is again a well-known club and considered to be an Italian giant. The club legends include Franco Baresi, Gunnar Nordahl and Paolo Maldini.
It has won numerous titles which go as follows: seventeen Serie A titles, five Coppa Italias, five Supercoppa Italianas, seven UEFA Champions Leagues, two UEFA Cups, five UEFA Super Cups and four FIFA Club World Cups.
The club’s current shining stars include the likes of Alexandre Pato, Andrea Pirlo and Alessandro Nesta.
AC Milan seems to be in financial crisis and it was partly due to this reason that they were not able to win any trophies in 2007 though they did win the FIFA Club World Cup. One thing that makes AC Milan stand out is that they usually give their young talent
a chance to play in the team.
AFC Ajax:
This is one club with the most triumphs in Netherlands, and has pretty much the best youth academy in the world which has produced numerous football legends.
The legends that have played for this club are Dennis Bergkamp, Marco Van Basten and Johan Cruyff.
