Skateboarding, uhhh,, help?!

im a beginner. i just started and i cant seem to turn. i know its pathetic that i cant turn, but anyways. lol, got any tips??

also, im willing to learn some tricks after i master the evil turning!! (haha) so, any advice, tips, help?!?!?

well to turn u really have to keep your balance while you use your back foot to put pressure on the tail of the skateboard and when the skateboard lifts up you turn.

A gradual turn is done by simply banking the board to one side or the other - that causes the trucks to turn slightly, helping to keep your balance as well.

The other responder's tip is good for making more rapid, sharp turns.

One other tip is to always wear a helmet (brain damage will put a major crimp in the rest of your life), and while you're learning or doing tricks, maybe wear knee and elbow pads (limping from major knee damage can also put a crimp into the rest of your life).
