I'm starting to consider skateboarding, So I wanna ask a question.

Is it possible to learn to skateboard (ollies, etc) without never getting hurt, SEVERLY? I mean some bruises, or scrapes are fine, but not anything seorius, like a broken wrist, ankle, or etc, or some sprains.

  1. yea you can but no matter what you will end  up getting hurt in the process.

SKATEBOARDING IS NOT A EASY SPORT TO TAKE UP.

its fun but yet so dangerous. i mean look what happens to pro's. i mean there pro's and have been doing it forever but yet they still get hurt. look at danny way for instance at the x-games...if anyone saw it theyll know. man was on the big air comp. goin up high as h**l like almost 30 ft over the coping and messes up...man crazy insane!

but anyways. yea it is possible. dont expect to be a pro or some sick underrated skater cause to get good your going to need to sacrifice some of you body to the sport

i have had bruises, sprained ankle to mini fractures on my elbow. AND MOST OF ALL I STILL SUCKK BUTT...but ay im still skating cause you know why!? cause I LOVE TO SKATE!

  2. That depends on how you take landings. If you make a small trip but you put your arms out in front of you than you may just break your wrists. Just avoid trying to break any fall with weak/sensitive bones or body parts and your most likely to be safe and sound.

  3. yes it is possible good luck

  4. Yeah. As long as you don't try yourself to do 2 stairs or 3 stairs. Try to work on flat ground. Garages don't usually work due to its slippery feel. Also, if you feel that your not ready, use a helmet and pads.

  5. yes but always remember in the back of ur head wat u r doing. Ollies and other simple tricks probably wont get u hurt but as u get better u might get an injury or two. It alll depends.

  6. It's very possible.  I know many skaters who have never broken a bone.  Unfortunately I'm not one of them.  My worst injuries have been from just doing the easy stuff because I was not paying attention.  A fall from 14' onto concrete or getting thrown from a board at 50mph is a lot less dangerous if you are prepared and are paying attention.  It's the pebbles on the ground that will really mess you up.

95% of skateboarding injuries that require a trip to the emergency room can be prevented with protective gear and common sense.  Basketball, soccer and cycling are more dangerous than skateboarding.

    My two tips

    wear the proper gear

    learn to fall.
