Skating @ 17??????

i want to go skating cuz ive stopped playing the piano and i really want to go figure skating is it too late for me now?

Its never to late...I know a woman who is over 40 and is still taking lessons so...Go 4 It!!!!!!!

its never too late to begin skating! i wish someone was there to tell me that, because when i started when i was 15 i was so discouraged when i saw the little kids skating and i had just begun. the key is not to get frustrated, because it takes time and practice, and it will at times get you so angry that you cant do something, but evrything comes with time. the people in my class were never my age, i even had a class for about 2 months with like this like 65 year old guy learning to skate. hahaaha, skaters come in all ages. and if youre interested in competing, there are adult categories, where you will be skating with people your age, and in their 20's. its such an amazing sport, and im sure youll love it as long as you give it a try! best of wishes, and good luck on the iceeee!!!! =D

Go ahead and skate, you probably won't be the Olympic skater, but you can certainly go learn and maybe even compete a little bit. Have fun and good luck!

i'm a hockey player so don't know much about the right age to start figure skating, but there was this lady in our rink that started taking figure skating lessons. she was like old, like old enough to be my grandmum. so, don't hold back! its never too late to do what you desire.

nooo way! r u a fast learner though???i learned quickly and easily...l was a natural.i was able to spin on ice on my first try!!!!!!! to come to think of it,i havent been ice skating in a LONG time!!!  oh anyways....if u kno how to roller blade,u will kno how to ice skate just like me!

No it is never too late to do anything.

it's a bit too late to be a super competitive skater, but you can still start. just keep in mind that in figure skating, you will fall a lot, and as you age, the bones in your body will become more brittle, causing it to break more easily when falling. if you use the right positions and practice hard, you will go far.

also consider how much time you have to practice when you get to college, which probably will come soon.
