Okay, so I can't train at the local rink for various reasons, and I can't go all that much either because its like 40mins from where i live, anyway my question is....

Are there any websites that give you skating training? Like an online program or something like that so I can do things gradually without a coach?

Also, are there any stretches off ice that REALLY improve your balance/skating?

Thanks!

  1. i have a friend who lives 1hr - 1 1/2 hrs away from my local rink and she comes twice - 3 times a week. so if u wanna skate, make the effort, and as far as i know, ther are no "online programs", if there was it prob isnt very effective neway.ballet really helps, so does yoga n pilates

  2. go on expertvillage.com and type in ice skating and it will show this guy that is a coach at my rink and he is pretty good. many of his students have gone to junior nationals and placed in the top 5.

  3. be careful not to do the wrong stretching.  the

here are two websites(sorry you have to search the first website) the second one is stretches designed for ice skaters.    I didn't feel a dif of balance, but they are good for flexibility and certain skating moves

    www.expertvillage.com   search gymnastic and contortionist

    www.skating-wos.on.ca/sportsci/stretch...
