  1. I shot skeet with a 24" Rem 11-87... very well too. I used to shoot with a guy who won the Michigan title with a 870 several years in a row

If you want a dedicated skeet gun that wont break the bank those Ruger Red Lables are pretty nice.

Any properly choked shotgun will work... but the stock fit it the most important thing. You can spend 10k on a shot gun that you wont hit with if you cant get "wood on the wood" consistantly.

  2. The great thing about skeet, is that the targets are close and fast, much like bird hunting. Often the best skeet gun is a good field gun. If you have a short 28 inch barrel with open chokes, then you will do fine. If you want to spend cash on a better gun, then get a Remington 1100 in skeet trim. The 20 gauge is the perfect gauge for that sport.

If your dad was a contender in his day, then he may have a gun for you in his closet, so be patient.

  3. Any gun that is good for you, and allows you to be consistant is what you need. I do shooting, I also use a field gun... It would be nice if i can afford a sport model or a sport model stock, so i dont get whacked in the cheek bone everytime i pull the trigger....

I like the browning citori specifically

the browning GOLD guns are good too

If those are out of your price range check out a remington 1100
