I challenge you to help humanity find common ground on this issue.

Where can we begin?

Inspired by E.O. Wilson's 'Letter to a Southern Batist Pastor,' 2006.

  1. I found this author best describes the "metaphysics" I've carried with me as far back as I can remember:

Man will find common ground with me when he (collectively) looks at the situation rationally and logically.  I dismiss emotional arguments.  Thus far, as I wade though the hype and hyperbole, I find the evidence points towards the sun (not man) as the primary driving force of the latest warming trend.  Those who seek knowledge through the mind (as opposed to those who seek it through the heart or soul) will wind up exactly where I am.  How unfortunate reason and logic are so "uncommon" in this day and age.

  2. I start with a simple position. I do not know a thing about God or anything that metaphysics talks about.  I have heard lots, but still don't know anything, and doubt that anyone does.

There may or may not be  a God, and if there is, I still don't know anything about same, even when I know what someone else believes about God.

    Same with a spirit world.

  3. Unique way to start an argument based on some spiritual beliefs that most of us have been indoctrinated since birth. Logic tells me that its quite silly to believe or worship a god who's very existence cannot be proven but on the other hand, how can we prove that there isn't. I believe we can argue till doom's day and neither skeptic or believer is wrong or right.

  4. what issue is it that you want to discuss?  Global warming, metaphysics?

  5. All I know is, if you believe in all the miracles in the Bible then magic and ghosts are also possible. If you've had an experience with a ghost, it's easier to believe in a god but you might not know much about it. If you don't have either, I guess you have to figure that you something everything came from somewhere. Sure, lots of common ground.
