not so long ago, several months ago i saw on the news and many other shows including oprah. The lady who was trapped in her car under water, the rescuers could not get her doors open nor her windows. As she was slowly going down further she felt a hand come in and drag her up and out of the car. When she surfaced the rescuers then pulled her out of the water, but none of them grabbed her out of the car. When the car was pulled out of the water to their amazment the doors were still jammed shut and all the windows were still up. No one could work out how or who could of grabbed her out. I remember seeing the rescue on the news, then later oprah interviewed her. Well i believe in angels, other wise she would of drowned for sure.

  1. 1) How do I know the story, as the victim related it, as the rescuers related it, as Oprah related it and now as you relate it,  is true and accurate?

    2) If the victim was in panic mode and was nearly out of breath and about to pass out from lack of oxygen, it's quite likely that her memory of the events are not going to be reliable. Her memories may be hazy, missing or entirely faulty. She may not even remember opening up the car door. Who knows.

    3) If the victim is predisposed to believing in angels, she may be enhancing parts of her story and downplaying other parts of her story so that it is more supportive of her paranormal beliefs.

    4) The act of towing the car through the water could easily close an open door, depending on the direction of tow and the orientation of the car.

    5) You'd think that if an "angel" was protecting her, it would have been a little more proactive about keeping her from going off the road in the first place.

  2. I don't have an answer for you, but I believe that lady was 'spared' because it wasn't her time to go. You hear of amazing things, people picking up cars that weigh a ton to remove somebody from underneath, surviving horrific crashes and being blown up and they live - and others just bump their head, or sneeze and die. It was their time to go. My girlfriends father had open heart surgery and he 'died' on the operating table  He was bought back to life again, and he told us the 6 minutes he was dead he was watching the team resusitate him like he was on the ceiling, he said he drifted towards  a bright light, and his father was there (he died when my girlfriends father was 7) and he said he had to go back, his life wasn;'t finished yet - so I think it's all pre-destined when your time is up, it's up and not until

  3. Gee, it was on "Oprah"?  Then it must be true. Fat ignorant talk show hosts never stoop so low as to use sensationalism to boost ratings.

I always go to Montel and Sylvia Brown for the inside scoop. Who would ever believe those idiots At NBC, CBS, or ABC news?

  4. Angels have been around since before humans were ever created....

  5. Its your choice to believe what you wish, nothing I can say will change that. Without having full details of the case it would be impossible to suggest logical reasons without speculating wildly, but trust me I firmly believe as strongly as you that there is a logical reason for what happened without resorting to paranormal explanations.

If i put an iron tight logical explanation to you, you would continue to believe that you are right and that angels not only exist but intervene in some cases, though most certainly not all.(as is your right).

    Lets agree to disagree?.

  6. Another anecdote taken blindly as fact.People need to be more critical of information.

  7. yes definatly God's angels!

  8. You saw this on the news and on Oprah? So those are both completely reliable sources? I couldn't possibly say if this really happened or not, but I'd want more reliable evidence than that provided by the media.

  9. i saw this story and yes i believe it wasnt her time to go she had spiritual help for sure....the rescuers were in dis belief of how she got out of that car...and the doors were jammed shut and the windows were still up when they pulled the car out.....i work in search and rescue and i know there was alot of talk amongst other rescuers of this event...but i know it did happen for sure... there you go its on the link above

  10. Maybe someone used precognition, remote viewing and psychokinesis to see the crash, open the door and pull her out?  It doesn't have to be an angel.

  11. I have recently converted to a skeptic after several decades of trying to believe.  It's stories like this that made me a skeptic.

You are stating the facts incorrectly, which seems to be a common denominator in these stories.  They know exactly who pulled the woman to safety - he is interviewed in the article below; follow the link.

    Quoting the news report:

"Almost a full minute went by before Howard Absetz, an 43-year-old unemployed store manager, somehow reached through Charlene's front window."

"To actually feel her grasp my arm was a real shock," Absetz said. "And then the second time she grasped my arm, I knew right then I could get her out."

The link below has the video of the car floating down the street before sinking.  Ironically, the woman had lots of time to get out of the car before it sank, (the video is real clear on that) but she couldn't swim.   (If you were an angel, how would you feel about rescuing someone who wouldn't rescue themself?)

What did happen is that "somehow", the power windows on her SUV opened and closed while under water.  I frankly don't find that weird - it would have been weirder if parts of the cars electrical system DIDN'T short out after being underwater.

I understand the desire to believe in powers greater than ourselves.  I hope that something is out there.  But, we have also have to be brutally honest with ourselves in evaluating these stories.

  12. The short answer: this did not happen, at least not as you have related it.

The long answer: There is nothing to explain here.  This is how urban legends and old wives' tales get going.  Take a story that may have an element of Truth, embellish it with many tellings, making sure to add in elements of your personal mythologies, go on a show (like Oprah) that is known for the gullibility and credulity of its host and its audience and then let the story run itself.

  13. Hey you never know, maybe David Copperfield got her out. What or who ever it was, was a miracle. I do believe there are angels, not ghosts, who look after us.

  14. It never ceases to amaze me the things people will do to get on the Oprah show.

I really think that believing somebody on that show is a bit incredibly.

  15. When the car jumped with her in the water, she must have been gripped with terrific fear of death. Naturally, her sense of reasoning was clouded.Still the intense desire to live made her to loosen the seat belt, open the door and plunge into the water. If she knew swimming, she came to surface in no time. If she did not know swimming, still she would have beaten water with her hands in imitation of swimmers ,became visible to the rescuers and pulled out.The closing of the car door  appears no mystery since it can close by the ripples or while tugging it out.Since she was in a panicky condition, it is quite natural for the mind, to not record the exact sequences of the event.

  16. maybe chris angel did it  like a magic trick

  17. Has it occurred to you that you're making a biased assumption? Here's the deal; you don't know what happened, therefore some unreasonable explanation is being proved true.

Doesn't add up in my books.

For all I care she was pushed out through the bonnet, she obviously got out some how. Saying that we don't know what happened, and she got out in a normal, physical way is more rational that believing the words of someone who was most likely pacicked near insanity at the sure thought she was dying, supplemented by rescuers who may or may not have been silenced, and drawing the conclusion that it's paranormal.

  18. Hello,,nice story. You just gotta believe it's true. But what about weight loss angels?

  19. i didn't hear about this story... but for the skeptics, i have a like story that happened to my daughter when she was about 9 or so months old.....

we live along a river and our house is raised off the ground about 10 feet.... i was on the back deck repotting some plants and my daughter ( now 10 ) was in her walker.... being the not so smart mom, i let her move about around me not thinking for one second she would go near the stairs ( there was no gate ). i looked away for her for what seemed like only seconds and the next thing i hear is the tumble and crash of the walker. i ran to the steps and there my daughter laid on the top step length wise on her belly looking up at me wide eyed and her walker upside down at the bottom of the steps....

as i have mentioned, i was not looking, but i truly believe an angel lifted my daughter from that walker that day and laid her on the steps for me... my daughter never cried and had no abrasions which i found strange since she was inside the walker when it tumbled... but she was on the FIRST step... I do believe and it warms my heart....
