Skeptics - honest - are you more or less skeptical than you were when you started participating in this forum?

And why? (I.e., is it because of your experience here, because of the cooling trend, etc....).

  1. Less skeptical in general and more open to being convinced, but not because of this forum.

  2. I'm feel the same as when I entered this forum.  The funny thing is that I used to believe the hype, then I did my own independent research and came to the conclusion that much of the argument of the supporters is twisted and manipulated.  Hopefully, this will all be put to rest soon.

  3. Not sure if skeptical is even the right word for me.  I have been following the environmental lies since the 70's.

I participate in this forum to help people understand they are being manipulated by environmentalists.

Promoting the lies, even with the best of intentions, hurts people, and helps nothing.

  4. I consider my skepticism a badge of honor.  I am not only skeptical of global warming.  I am skeptical of just about everything unless I have bothered to learn about the issues.  With global warming, the more I learned, the more skeptical I became.  Cooling and warming trends don't have much sway with me.  What really is convincing is understanding how little we really know. For example, we don't even know what exactly determines the concentration of water vapor throughout the atmosphere.  Lots of assumptions are made but when you really don't understand such a basic and important part of our atmosphere, you don't know enough to make predictions.  Water vapor is so enormous because it is a big part of the way heat is transported and dispersed.    The effects of heat on water vapor are also poorly understood.  Those pretending to understand these trends seem more like palm readers than scientists to me.

  5. I've become more skeptical of those who claim that global warming is natural since none of them have been able to show what natural cycle is causing it nor can they find any evidence that it is the sun (without misquoting).

  6. MORE skeptical - nothing any "Global Warming" pundit has said has any basis in fact.

The sky is NOT falling; global climate change is a natural cycle of the planet; and Al Gore is only in this for one thing - Al Gore.

Besides, this was all started by hippies. Who the h**l ever put any credence in them?!?

  7. I don't think either side has been convinced of anything.   I've seen the obvious lack of knowledge on the subject from some in both groups does nothing but help add to the confusion.

  8. I admit I'm equally as skeptical, though I've learned a bit more about what's really going on.  But my mind hasn't changed.  I'm growing weary of watching the alarmists try to pound square pegs into round holes though.

It began with Al Gore's movie, which I saw long before I knew of this forum.  Particularly (but certainly not only) the polar bear part...you see I grew up in a northeastern area of Canada directly inside the polar bears natural roaming territory, and I return there often.  I knew firsthand that what Al was saying was a lie.  That's where my skepticisn began.  Since then I have never had an occassion to change my mind.  I've seen now how political the whole thing really is.

  9. more skeptical- because i have finally seen the sort of people who advocate FOR it.
