Ski-Doo/Sea-Doo Question?

I heard that Ski-Doo and Sea-Doo were actually suppose to be Ski-Dog and Sea-Dog. It was just a typo when they made the products. Is this true or a myth?

and if it's true, could someone please find me an article where it says so.

ive never heard this before but if it were true wouldnt they change the typing error.

I believe that it is a myth. It's supposed to be a "derogatory" name for them. Like we call Arctic Cats, "Arctic Craps" or Polaris, "Polarsh*t." Ski Dog meaning it's slow. I don't know if I'm right, but this is what I believe is true.
