Reflects light. The color white reflects light while the color black absorbs light. Also I think they wear it so snow doesn't hit their eye.

Cherry is correct.  It is not only to prevent snow blindness (from the brightness of reflected sunlight), but to protect the eyes from snow.  Strange, as a child we never wore dark glasses when playing in the snow!
