I'm going up to Vermont with my friends next weekend to ski and it will be my first time in 6 years skiing. Any tips? I'm not taking a lesson, so please don't suggest to do that, I know I should but I don't have the time or money. Anything else?

  1. Could you ski 6 years ago ,,,, you will probably be at close to the same level as then

Stay on runs you are comfortable on for your level

Ski greens if that is where you belong and be mindful of where the lift goes and what type of runs it services as friends some times lead inexperienced skiiers to the top and the only way down is blacks or hard blues

Be willing to tell your friends that you will see them later if they want to ski more advanced runs

  2. well make sure you don't just keep going straight down. do turns you know in the shape of a "S" when you go down the hill. it helps me slow doewn. also on the straight sections (if there are any), if you bend your knees you go faster. that's all i can say. you have to ski for yourself to find out the best techniques. good luck!!

  3. ok lol just start out doing the pizza... remember that?then once you've got that straightened out try going parallel on an easy slope....

  4. if you have your own skies get them out and pretend to ski if you don't when you get there try and get to the back of everyone else so they can't see you :-) -(--<
