Skiing in Denver?

I'm looking for the best skiing spots in the Denver area.

I'm flying in from New England so I'm completely in the dark about what's out there. Looking for anything big, challenging, and hopefully with terrain park. Must also allow snowboarders. Thanks for any suggestions!

  1. You might have to get away from Denver.  If you go about 30 minutes west of Denver there are some killer mountains (Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, etc)  check those places out.  Good Luck.

  2. You are in for a treat

Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Copper, Keystone, Winter Park, A-Basin, Loveland in that order

All are about two hour drive from Denver

  3. Take I70 West, and you can't miss the big name Mountains.  As for skiing in Denver...Good luck.

  4. Breckenridge is about 2 hours away from Denver, and is on a mountain. Beautiful ski resort, which offers a lot, and doesn't cost as much as Aspen.

  5. You should rent a car at the Denver airport or you'll have to find some of the shuttles to the ski areas. Winter Park ski area is great & it's 1&1/2 hr. Then try Summit County which includes A-Basin, Keystone, Breckenridge, Loveland & Copper Mountain. These areas are about a 2 hr. drive from Denver. There are no excellent areas closer than this. I know, I went to college is Boulder, CO & I've personally skied Vail, Breckenridge & Winter Park. Vail is a little farther & it's about the largest single mountain. Good Luck!!!!

  6. There's no skiing IN Denver, but there's great places in the mountains.
