  1. Fist rule of the snow sports responsibility code is to be in control!  So always be in control.  If you don't care about your own safety, think of the person you'll probably crash in to.

A helmet doesn't help much above 10 mph, so if you're going to intentionally ski out of  control and expect the helt to help, don't, it won't.

Helmets are a good thing.  Most of my falls happen at a slower speed.  I've lost control and am trying to regain it by slowing down...then I've lost my balance.    Please check out the answers in this question:

  2. Wear a helmet.

That way, if you lose control you won't damage your brain.

  3. Skiing in control is much safer than out of control with a helmet.  You should always wear a helmet but in this case, be in control.  If you are in control, you wont crash.  In this case you don't need a helmet.  If you are out of control with a helmet, you could still hurt yourself.

    Always wear a helmet.

  4. In control is always safer, not only for you but for others around you. Do you think that if you crashed into a little kid while you were out of control, people would forgive you because you were wearing a helmet?

  5. Skiing in control is safer, the helmet makes no difference, if you are out of control, you are taking an unnecessary risk.  Wear the helmet because you can not predict when you will be out of control. Also what about the A*&*&*&e who is out of control behind you who decides to scare you by coming too close, and hits you?  Wear the helmet.

  6. Wear a helmet. My friend and I are very safe controlling skiiers and this past winter she got a really bad concussion and was out for 3 days, we were wondering if she was still living. She wasn't wearing a helmet. Don't let this happen to you.

  7. Ok, the first think that I have to tell you is that nowadays, skiing with a helmet is more than neccessary. Many, many people die skiing each year from not only avalanches, but hitting trees (and other objects) and falling, sustaining fatal head injuries.

You should ALWAYS ski in control. Because as it comes to your saftey, that should be the thing you are most concerned about. Also, DO NOT ski out of control. You will almost always get your pass pulled, and you not only endanger your own life, but the life of other people.

Also remember that wearing a helmet is not a 100% saftey guarentee. You need to remember that skiing is a sport that you have to be cautious about.

Although I HIGHLY reccomend skiing with a helmet, I am going to have to say that the safer thing would be to ski in control without a helmet.

    Just Remember:

    -ALWAYS be in control

    -SAFTEY is your upmost concern

    - BUY THE HELMET- a $100 helmet isnt much compared to the $30,000 hospital bill or your life.

Think about it, and Happy Skiing

    Hope this Helps.

  9. Skiing in control without a helmet. I laugh at people like Iggy. What a dumb@$$!!! He's the guy who makes the statistics of people with head injuries go up. $100 helmet or $100,000 dollar in medical bills due to you being a idiot and not taking care of your brain. I guess this is God's way of weeding out the weak and dumb!!

  10. I reckon skiing in control with a helmet is the right option here.

  11. well i snowboard but anyways

i went to vermont in febuary and we were made to wear helmets

i was in control but i still caught my heel side and then got concussed - not good seen as i had to miss the rest of the day

and if you go out of control with a helmet it will help you but it will be damaged and if its ill fitting then theres no point

but either way helmet or no helmet i dont thin k there much use and i hate wearing them but that personal choice either way i dont think any is safer but thats my personal prefrance
