  1. Make sure you take plenty of warm stuff! Loads of warm jumpers, make sure you have ski trousers, skiing glasses, warm shoes, thermals, big socks! Also remember to pack suncream the sun relfects of the snow, giving a bigger risk to sun burn, and plenty of moisturiser! Everything else is just basics like cosmetics etc. Hope this helps :)

  2. Assuming you plan on renting skis, boots, and poles (and a helmet if available), here is a list of helpful items:

    1. hat

    2. gloves. Even better, mittens. They keep you warmer.

    3. goggles, or at least high quality sunglasses.

    4. if you are going to a place that is at high altitude (Colorado or Utah), pack aspirin. Some people get headaches if they are not used to the altitude.

    5. long johns (top and bottom)

    6. ski pants

    7. jacket

    8. some type of pant that you can wear under your ski pants. Stay away from jeans (you can wear them in the lodge, but not recommended for skiing). I wear a quick drying, sweat wicking, hiking pant when I ski (under my ski pants). They are loose fitting...you want something that you can flex in. Heck, even pajama pants might work...but if they are cotton, they will absorb the sweat, and you get cold and clammy.

    9. several types of tops to wear under your jacket. I would recommend having on hand a nice long sleeve turtleneck, and maybe a fleece jacket or pullover.

    10. a neck gator (if it might be cold).

    11. sun block and lip balm/chapstick (get the stuff that acts as a sun block too for best protection).

    12. a quality, athletic sock. This sock should be thin. People wear thick socks, or two or three pairs of socks, end up cutting off the circulation to their feet. The sock should be able to go at least mid shin on your leg. My ski socks go almost to my knee.

    13. Lots of $$. You will need to pay for all your stuff, and make sure you have money for lessons if you have never skied before. Get those lessons the first morning, so you can enjoy yourself safely!

    14. Have fun!!

(hopefully I remembered everything). If I didn't, I'm sure someone else will fill in the gaps.

  3. ski's
