Skil-Shimano happy after taking first Tour of Poland’s stage victory - Cycling News

Skil-Shimano team was very happy with the performance of Marcel Kittel after taking the second stage victory of Tour of Poland on Monday, August 1.
The general manager of Skil-Shimano team Iwan Spekenbrink told the media that they are proud to take this victory not only for the cyclists but the people behind the team was very sportive. The boss of the team also very happy and said, "It's meaningful
Marcel has won such a victory."
Spekenbrink explained that Kittel always show his good effort in the race and if he continued his struggle then he able to face the best sprinters in the world like Mark Cavendish of HTC-Highroad.
The Skil-Shimano manager notes the difference and said, "Cavendish is very explosive, like a rocket. Kittel likes the long and strong sprint where he can use his very big power."
Before start the race, German racing cyclists Kittel joined some training centre for preparation in July, at Livigno, Italy and on Alpe d'Huez with his team and at the end of the June he took a part of German national championship.
Marcel joined the Skil-Shimano team in January and immediately he took one stage of Tour of Langkawi and continued his effort and grabbed fourth stage of Quatre Jours de Dunkerque.
Kittel also took one stage and overall standing of Delta Tour Zeeland and grabbed first place in ProRace Berlin.
In Tour of Poland Kittel covered the distance of 162 kilometres in 3 hours, 38 minutes and 35 seconds and easily beat Heinrich Haussler (Team Garmin-Cervelo) and Graeme Brown (Rabobank Cycling Team).
Spekenbrink further added, "Our internal selection for Vuelta is not official yet, and we are not the sort of team to plan to withdraw a rider. We have a lot of respect for the organizers and the end of the Vuelta will be in Madrid for everyone."
The Skil-Shimano team hopes, that Kittel continues his good momentum and winning confidence in the next stage and takes the overall lead in Tour of Portland.
